History
On March 21, 1999, River Oaks Community Church held its first worship service at Forsyth Country Day School. From the very beginning, we wanted to create a church that those seeking spiritual answers would love to attend. Our worship team played contemporary music and people were encouraged to “come as you are.” In fact, one of our first mailings as a church was a postcard with a picture of a pair jeans letting people know that they were welcome to wear denim and learn about God at the same time.
Since February 12, 2006, we have been holding worship services at our current location on Lewisville-Clemmons Road. While our location and size have changed, our core values have not. We are still committed to the worship of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Bible as God’s inspired Word, and our dependence upon prayer as the foundation of everything we do.
