January Ministry Focus
Then Jesus came to them and said, “…go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” —Matthew 28:16-20
The River Oaks Missions and Outreach Team is an integral part of our vision to Reach. Build. Send. This ministry includes both local outreach and international missions. We believe that, as followers of Jesus Christ, we are to accept the privilege and honor of being His witnesses in this hurting and lost world by showing His great mercy, grace, peace, and love. It is our heart’s desire for God to use us for His glory and to increase His kingdom here on earth.
We do this in many ways, including:
Participating in short-term trips throughout the year.
Hosting annual mission conferences.
Providing opportunities to hear from our missionaries when they visit RiverOaks.

Local Missions
Jesus called His disciples to be witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). While we are actively involved in spreading the Gospel to the most remote corners of the world, we also remain committed to reaching our Jerusalem–the city of Winston-Salem. Through our partnership with these local ministries (maybe make those words the link), we become the hands and feet of Jesus Christ to our community.
